Winter Wonderland

Although we haven't had any snow here for a few weeks, it still feels very cold and wintry.  Seeing this garden makes me long for more snow.  If I had a garden like this, I might want winter to last forever.  This fabulous garden by Bryan Lynch and Evelyn Poehler is all about shapes and textures.  Even in this photo, which is almost colorless, you sense the power and beauty of this garden.  When I think about gardens I usually think of flowers and colors.  This garden doesn't need color, the architecture of the plantings is so powerful it can stand on it's own.  Although I'll bet this garden is beautiful in summer as well.

  1. Jen...love the garden. Does make you appreciate the winter snow. The challenge with gardens here where we live is to create winter interest, in addition to the other seasons. This garden has definitely achieved that.
